Digital inclusion is what we do, so an inaccessible website would be a poor advert for it. This statement explains how accessible this site is, where it falls short, and how to tell us if something is not working for you.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their ability, device or assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
We believe the site meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. We have tested it ourselves rather than commissioning an independent audit, so we would not claim it is perfect. If you find something that does not work, please tell us, because that is genuinely how we find the things we have missed.
Our contact and newsletter forms use Google reCAPTCHA to filter out automated spam. It runs in the background and does not ask you to solve a puzzle, but it is a third-party component and we cannot guarantee its behaviour with every assistive technology. If a form gives you trouble, email or phone us and we will take your details that way.
If you have difficulty using this website, or you need information from it in a different format such as large print, plain text or audio, contact us at info@digitalyou.org.uk or on 0191 716 9565. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we will get the information to you another way while we fix it.
We aim to reply within 5 working days.
We are not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us. We are still covered by the Equality Act 2010, which requires us to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.
If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
This statement was prepared on 7 September 2026 following a review of the site against WCAG 2.2 level AA, carried out by us using automated tools and manual keyboard and screen reader testing. We review it at least annually and whenever we make significant changes to the site.
